Nowadays you have a lot of choice at your finger tips. Online music has made it easy to access a wide range of music, and traditional wedding music is being used less and less.
Ideally you need to source a minimum of 5 songs for your ceremony:
- 1 song for the processional as the bride walks down the aisle
- 2 songs for the signing of the register
- 2 songs for the recessional when the bride and groom walk back down the aisle as husband and wife.
It is also a good idea if you have some background music which can be played whilst your guests are waiting for you to arrive.
With regards to the choice of music, the best suggestion is to choose music that means something to you as a couple. It is also helpful if the song for when you walk back down the aisle as a married couple is upbeat. After all, it’s a time to celebrate!
